2015: Winding Down and Rounding Up

2015

As 2015 draws to a close, we’re taking stock of what has been a fun-packed year for everyone at MASH.

In 2015…

  • London Cocktail Week saw our bar packed to the brim with Londoners enjoying their Maker’s Milk Punch.
  • Kobe Wagyu arrived on the menu (and proved so popular over Christmas that we sold right out)
  • We upped our wine list game and now have upwards of 1200 varieties in that leather bound book. Head sommelier Jess treats every one like a child of his.
  • Jess also achieved remarkable success by being named the Best Nordic Sommelier 2015 and proudly brought home the man-size trophy that now resides in our wine cellar.
  • Bartender Robyn made a name for herself on the cocktail competition circuit and bagged herself a trip to Jerez, Spain and another to Mexico. Not a bad life, is it?

And those are just some of the things our fab team have been up to. From the chefs to the runners to the bar team to management, it’s been a busy one (particularly the last few weeks!) but we wouldn’t have changed a thing. We sat down with Maurice Duarte, our General Manager, about his thoughts on what has been and what comes next. He had this to say:

“It’s been a great year for MASH in London, as we continued to grow and develop our menu, our wine list (now almost at 1300!) and of course our team. Christmas saw our busiest few weeks of the year and even as lunches frequently overlapped into dinners, our team took it all on the chin and held up like pros. New Year’s Eve promises to be just as busy and it’ll be a great way to see out the year.

Worldwide, MASH has also grown astronomically, with two new restaurants in Denmark and our very first German branch in Hamburg. They are all going from strength to strength and who knows – maybe London will be next in line for a new branch in 2016?!”

Keep your eyes peeled in the New Year for more news, updates, and some fun things we've got planned - and in the meantime, keep up with us on TwitterInstagram, and Facebook

Here's to 2016!
